‘CHILDISH’

Emerging as a formidable singer/songwriter, to solidifying her ethereal indie-pop sound, Kat Edwards continues to rise. Signed to BMG Australia, it was 2021 that shaped her trajectory, being listed as ‘Ones to Watch in 2022’ as well as being one of Ticketmaster AU’s Top 10 Breakthrough Artists. Drawing influences from the likes of Bon Iver, Phoebe Bridgers and Julia Jacklin, her emotional lyricism is a sentiment shared by names including Dodie, Clinton Kane, Stella Donnelly, Paul Kelly and Boy and Bear to name a few, who each enlisted Kat to open for their respective shows, while she's also performed at festivals including Falls and Party In The Paddock; her live performances blossoming with the lessons she's learnt over her years as a young adult finding her way in the world, captivating audiences with every word.

Kat’s music has elevated further than just her and her guitar, ranging from quiet introspective moments to dark, ethereal exploration, to the occasional up-beat indie pop track.

The now Melbourne-based artist is set to release new music in 2024, much of which was written in London with ARIA winning songwriter/producer heavyweight Dylan Nash (Dean Lewis, Gretta Ray, Angus and Julia Stone, Meg Mac). It marks a new chapter for the 24 year-old. A chapter that is self-assured sonically, and personally.

The thing about a Kat Edwards song is, there will always be a lyric or a note that will pierce straight to your heart and find a home.
